Default How far does the gas gauge go past F?

according to my fuel gauge i just pulled a 200 mile trip on a little over 1/4 tank, that cant be right, so much of the gas gauge would say is past the F?

On my 92, it'll stay above full for about 100 miles. I've still got the original sender.

70 liters per full tank.
8 liters past full mark
8 liters below empty mark
13.5 liters per quarter

So at 10 liters per 100 km you should get about 140 km per 1/4 tank. plus another 80 for the amount past the full.

Fuel level sensors are not all together linear from full to empty. I use mine as a loose estimation of tank level. My trip meter is a better indication to me on how much fuel is in the tank.

Thats what mine does... It'* sits a tad above full for 90-100miles and then the rest of the tank the needle is playing catch up. It'* a minor anoyance, I just watch my mileage and know how much gas is left anyway.

You'll find it varies from car to car. No you didn't go 100 miles on 1/8 of a tank even if the gauge says you did 200 on a 1/16. MPG is best calculated by filling, driving a good distance then filling again and using the displaced amount.
