tstat question
ok now that its winter ive notice that my heat isnt very hot, will putting my old 195 tstat back in instead of my 180 help that? i mean i never really had a problem with heat to begin with and im not hard on the car much...

do it. i just did mine and it makes a world difference. plus if your car doesnt warm up all the way, your car will run in open loop and it will kill your gas mileage.

I dropped the 195 back in because I wanted to ensure if a bad winter day happened, I had the extra heat to keep the windshield heated and clean.
Darn NE weather.
Chad, in reading the FSM the stock settings will turn off the high speed fans over 40-60mph. I believe this is due to the air flow at those speeds being faster than the fans. Although if you went above 180 degrees, you would still have the problem with city driving.
I wonder if ambient temperature needs to be above a certain amount before the fans will come on at 186. Now that would be nice! You would be able to swap out a t stat once the cold weather arrived.
