could the RTG mean rating?

Mine is rated Z. Why is it that my car only does 121?

I saw a show about the history of the muscle car on History channel a while back, and one of the things they kep pointing out was GM'* restrictions on which cars were allowed to do what, power and speed wise. So, in order to meet those rules (probably so that the Vette and what not look better) Pontiac has to put limiters and such on their vehicles. Can't have one of them dang Bonne'* being modified by some end user to outperform a Camaro or Vette, now, can we???
