Default FlexFuel VS Regular gas? Milage Ratings

My buddy just traded in his Trailblazer for a 2010 Impala with a 3.5 V6. We just curious of the milage differances between Flexfuel and Regular gas.

Fexfuel, aka E85 ethanol, gets you terrible fuel economy by comparison. The money saved by using is not proportional to the reduced mileage. You'll lose money running on E85 instead of 87 octane gas.

I suppose it could depend on the car, but I've seen numbers closer to 30%-45% drop.

Well, I was being very conservative. The engine needs 25% more corn gas, and that'* not taking in to account the lower power.
