I called a place an they said its 2 R12. Is there a serial or part number for mince? Where can I locate it?

What year is this car? Calling a place isn't a good way to find out refridgerant the car uses, It may have been converted.

will a finding a part number let me know if it has been a converted compressor then? THats what I was asking earlier if i can try to find a part number to narrow it down.

Ah. Depending on the refridgerant used, I would recomend installing different compressors... a 93 compressor if it'* R12, a 94 if it'* R134a. Someone who can look at the car needs to find out which it has. I'll get part numbers real quick.

The compressor didn't have to be replaced if your car was infact upgraded to R134A. You won't find anything on the compressor.

The best way to determine what you have/had is by looking for a sticker in the engine bay (typically on top of the radiator shroud) that indicates it was updated to R134A along with a date of service. If you can't find that sticker then try checking with the previous owner.

Nope. Run over to a shop and have them look. Tell them you want to order the parts and have them do the swap, They'll look.
