Kyle...you'll find one...but next time don't hesitate so long. I'm on a pretty busy street and things will sit for a week or two. Then in one day I got like 5 people saying...I want it. First person with cash gets it. And the next day some guy is ringing my bell saying...tell me its not gone already...I was here...I was here...

He didn't call, he didn't leave a deposit. When you first looked at it...you probably should have handed her like $50 deposit.

Had to get the maternal OK first :( A deposit would have been stupid in that situation, given I didn't even know if I was allowed to get it. I also would have needed to talk them down quite a bit, too, to around $2200-$2300. Not to mention I needed my mechanic to look at it, but as it was the timing just turned out crappy, and I lost. I'm okay with that, though; I'm used to it by now It'd be funnier if it wasn't true...

how old are you and you need your mom'* approval before you buy yourself a car? You can't wait that long between finding a car and buying one. You have to act fast, not wait wondering if you should get it or not. Sometimes you gotta just take a chance.

I read another post somewhere...Kyle said something like he was born in 1990...which wouldn't make him old enough to drive in my area.

I hear you Kyle. But you can give the $50 and get a receipt. So they hold it for you. Then get the approval and mechanic go ahead. If either says no..say sorry...and get the $50 back. At least that way you buy yourself a couple of days to do what you gotta do.

Okay, to clear the record, I'm 20, and she gets a say because I'm still living with her. Sucks, but that'* the way things are. Luckily, I'm off to college in August, but until then... :( And I will NOT buy a car without my mechanic'* okay. That'* just the way that goes. Not to mention I'm still "new" to buying cars. Only bought two cars in my life, and the first one a got kind of screwed on (and that was from my friend'* father, how'* that for shitty?). So, the situation kind of sucks, because I don't want to lose a deposit, but I also want to jump on the good deals, of which there have been very few in the past year. Oy vey, now I'm depressed...

I found mine because I wasn't really looking for Bonne. CFoote told me to check them out. So I picked up the local paper while at a buddies house and saw a couple. One was (now my) 95 SSEi and the other was someone that didn't return my call.

Now that I am keeping an eye peeled I am not seeing that many for sale, unless the price is out of control.
