So, I'm getting these new SSEi rims.

The stock rims on the SSEi is 235/55R17, I have 235/60R16. The diameter of the SSEi rims is 27.1 inch, mine is 27.3 stock. A difference of 0.2 inches (or 5mm). The offset on those SSEi rims is +43...any of you ol Aurora boys know what the stock offset is on these Auroras?

What is a better tire to get based on aspect ratios? 225/55R17s or 235/55R17'*?

Making the purchase at the end of the month...I wanna make sure its gonna work

Any insights or comments is welcome as per usual

Tanx

Hmm, I think the wider tire is the choice to go with. Maybe look at stepping down a size in height? It will give the car a bit more aggressive look I think, but might put your speedo off a tad bit.

is the 235/60/16 ur stock size or was it 225/60/16

check out some tire calculators....i think they have them on sites like tire rack...to get an idea or home much the speedo would be off.

i'd say go wider, like a 245 series. But I would also keep a decent sidewall to prevent a nasty looking wheel well (unless u plan on lowering the RORA )

245/50/17 looks like a nice one to me

*EDIT...i just looked on tirerack and its shows 235/60/16 with ur magnificent autobahn package

they recommend 235/55-17 to keep the speedo close

the dealer told me the turn distance changes and it will affect the electronic gearing of the tranny.

But how much of a percent difference in the diameter will affect the tranny and shifting...remember, I dont wanna blow a tranny.

Finished shopping today

Kumho Ultra High Performance 255/50ZR17 $225 each installed, mounted, balanced and rims placed. The guy said they will probably come down in price in the spring...maybe to like $215 each. No tax...cash...woo woo

The overall diameter looks good too, stock 27.2 and with the new meats...27.1
