Default Hey Smellbird, Alien, Ridic, etc....(or anyone)

Well I was out looking for some Blazertechs and came across some Hella Optilux Angel Eyes. I was originally going to wait, but I said what the hell, and got them.

So now I am a member of the "Angel Eye club" too!!

BUT, after the PITA removing the old fog lights was (long story) I had to bend the stock brakets to find that it still was hard to mount them that way.

MY QUESTION: Does it REALLY matter if I mount the Angel Eyes so that "TOP" is really on top? I know the led is actually on top, but can I mount it "upside down" because it seems to me that, at least with my setup, that it will be MUCH MUCH easier to do it that way. Thanks!

I'll post some pic when I get them on in a few days.

Feel free to post what you guys did to install them. I guess it really shouldn't matter if they are upside down or not. That was probably a stupid question on my part.

But I read the directions on the grandprix site and those may work for me. I'll check it out tomorrow. I'll probably have to bend the stock brackets back now

Those are the ones Smellbird has, and i'd say mount the top, on the bottom. The tops won't be seen as much, and the distribution of light was pretty even. They are BRIGHT! holy cow.

Hang on a second. Top and bottom usually are pretty important with these. Is there a moisture vent or drain hole on the lights?

I was thinking that too. The top shouldn't be as visible anyway so upside down makes sense. I took the brackets off the Angel Eyes and will see if they mount on mine. Should work. Can't wait!

With mine I cut off the part that the old housings were mounted to and just drilled new holes for the Hella ones on the bottom of the bracket. Maybe I can get a pic of it tommorow when there'* some light. :?

Seth, so you cut off those metal tabs that were bent forward? I was thinking of drilling holes in the bottom too. So are your upside down? To mount them on the bottom part they should be right? I'll check for a drain hole now Will. Gimme a second.

No there'* no drain hole anywhere that I can see. The glass is completely closed. The GP site directions say to mount them upside down so maybe it'* ok. :?

No I did not mount them upside down. I think a pic could best explain it. :?

Ok, I'll wait for a pic. If I can mount them right side up I'll do it.
