Just got a new-used one on eBay this week for $8.50 plus $4.00 shipping. Took 30 seconds to reprogram. Life is good.

Diddo on ebay.

When my sister owned my car she had to buy one, $60 for the remote from the dealer. Then $60 to program it. Program it yourself, takes 30 seconds...what a rip...

Yep yep yep. Avoid the dealer at all costs, especially on something like this. Click the "TechInfo" link at the top of the page, and you'll find the instructions to program a remote yourself. The technique works on many other GM models with the OBD-II connector as well. Just make sure the replacement remote matches the numbers on your current remote, and it will work. Enjoy!

I asked them once and was quote "$40-70, depending on your car"... nowhere close to the price you can find on ebay or www.keylessride.com.

How do you find your remote code? I have the KE system but didn't get the remotes when I bought the car.

Well that will make things a little more difficult but not impossible. Somewhere around here there is a thread of everyone'* codes that correspond to their specific model years (try doing a search for it). There are only 2-3 possible codes for each year, typically... you might have to buy a couple keyfobs to see which one programs to your system, but then you can re-sell the one you don't use. I'll update this post if I find the thread mentioned above...
