Dual purpose. Keeps the back end level (and allows you to jack it up to prevent weight transfer at the strip if you know how it works ) and also provides a utility inflator. Takes awhile....produces 70psi, but low flow. Doing car tires just takes a little patience.

On the 2000+ models only the SSEi has it. The air compressor has the on/off switch in the trunk and a valve so you can hook up a line with a pressure gauge to inflate tires, and 2 more pins to inflate basketballs and air matresses. Very convenient!! Also you can lift the rearend of the car with the aircompressor on.

Alll the 2000+ Bonnevilles have the "elecrtonic level control". Are we talking about the same thing here?

Yep. only SSEi'* have them though. Do you have one in your trunk? If so, I am shocked.

Page 2, under mechanical...

Everytime I start my car I get the "buzzing"; I think we've concluded that this is the compressor. I have never hunted for it though..

Ok. Now that we got THAT out of the way.....

What can someone do with this ELC? Raise/lower? Fill tires? What and how?

Should I go to the 2000+ thread for this?
