Drove the WORST SSEi tonight!
Ive seen in an auto trader for the past year a 1992 SSEi white for sale at an used car place. So i went there tonight to take a look. It has a nice exterior and interior. It has 245,500 kms, mine has 250,700 kms, not a big diffrence. At idle it runs nice but he said there is a problem with it, so i took it for a run. YUKK the harder u press the gas the more it lags down! The boost gage never peaks 0 and the rpms pin at 5000 rpm, yet it never even reached 60 mph not even after a minute. I explained to him a number of things it could be like the boost control soleniod, Air filter, plugs wires, CAT, the list goes on. I got my handy paper clip out and scanned it for codes as the SES light comes on durning de acceleration and hard acceleration. Pulled up a code for 02 Sensor rich, EGR valve, Code 55, and 56. He also mentioned it only had 87 OCT gas in it...ugh! I was very dissapointed at the car, I'm so glad mine isnt that bad!!
Heres a pic my friend took of it as we left.
Also, that dog could probally run faster. My grandmas 02 Saturn 1.9L would kick its ***!
What a shame...a crying shame!
But the salesman was very honest to me about it, which is rare to see, so i appricated that.

Too bad! Now you know why it'* been there for a year! Good to hear that there is an honest used car salesman out there, and the "steal"ership isn't using the usual lines to get some poor unsuspecting sucker to buy it. :?

He also told me the SES light fading in and out was it telling me it needed an oil change, when really it had one a YEAR ago, and its still good..yeah that part was either compleat idiocy or a little lie...

Looks good from far but far from good.
It may just need some TLC. If the body and interior are still in great shape and the price is right it may be a good steal.
