The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated
Hello all,
Just thought I'd drop you all a line to let you know how things are going.
First and foremost, the 97 is running great. Had to do some serious maintance when I got her back to NS. All the wires and belts under the hood were woren (I'd suspect they've never been changed). The spark plugs looked org too. So after a $1200 trip to my local mechanic she'* running a lot better. The SC seems to be pulling more boost now too, It'* my new favorite gauge.
Neither the 91 or the 97 took damage during the hurricane a few weeks ago. They were just speckled with sheredded leaves and had to be washed. I did however have to drive home during the hurricane in the 97 (Juan was bigger then anyone expected). Interesting ride, espically across the MacKay (one of Halifax'* twin suspension bridges). Ever had your car pushed over a lane and a 1/2 sideways while doing 100kph... very interesting... hehe... it was kinda windy.
I did get re-ended two weeks ago while driving the 97. I really got whacked, and figured my back end (at least my bumper and trunk) were gone, but when I got out I only noticed minor scratches. I decided to get it checked out anyways, and turns out there is about $700 worth of damage. (Repaint the bumper, shock absorbers, stryofoam etc). It'll be taken care of by the woman who hit me.
I also got my new plates for the 91 last week "91 SSE", I haven't put them on her yet. She'* in temp storage right now until I can decide/find a spot to put her for the winter. I've got to get her gas tank fixed/replaced probably before winter due to a very small leak in it.
I've just updated my sig and avatar to reflect the 97, something I should have done a month ago. I haven't been following the BC too closely lately, but I'm off today (woo-hoo) and I plan to do some serious catch up reading.
I'll see you all around....

Thanks guys it'* good to be back. The weather is really shitty and cold here now, probably no good pix until next summer of the 97. It'* cold and it tends to hail more then it rains now. Avg daytime temp is below 8c. brrr....
Thats ok... the winter gives me time to save up some $$$ (hopefully) and start on the mods for the 97 in the Spring. She needs headlight covers bad, and some Angel Eyes.
Ordered them from a local shop... they are made by GT Styling. You can go on their website and pickout the model # you need. Most custom car shops should be able to order them for you.

Merlin! You won't be pissed if I was the one spreading the rumors about your death, will you?
Good to see you ok. Getting rear-ended is what caused all my pain. Took out my Roadmaster, put me in the hospital, and gave me a bit of paralysis. Not much, thank god. I love hearing stories where the driver walks away unhurt....or only mildly. The Bonneville God was looking out for you.

Yea... accidents suck in general, but when everyone walks away ok, it'* the best possible outcome. (and it'* a bonus when it'* not your fault)
I've had 3 accidents thus far (2 with the 91) and now 1 with the 97. All within the last 2 years, and none of them my fault. The first one with the 91 was bad... $4700 or so done, when an SUV backed up over my front end.... But I got to get all my rust fixed on my hood for free.
