Sticky Rear Brake
Last night was about 70 degrees, and was sort of wet out. It had rained all yesterday. I was at work and was going to go home. Put the Park Ave in Drive and it didn't want to go. I gave it a little gas and the tire screeched. Opened the door and looked back at the tire as I tried to move both forwards and backwards. It wasn't going to budge. I set the parking brake and released it a few times thinking that the cable might have locked the brake. Nothing. I pumped the brakes (non-ABS) and finally got it to come loose.
So, my question is, what'* causing this? I've only had the car for almost 3 weeks now. I saw on Tuesday that the brake fluid needs to be changed (about the only thing that WASN'T changed on the car otherwise, the car is in mint condition. (1990)
I know I have to get this taken care of very soon or I'm going to end up replacing brakes.
Any ideas?

I'm already disliking you because you mention a temperature I won't see again until May or June.
On to the issue at hand, did you set the parking brake before it locked up, or was this a lock up that was caused when you stepped on the regular brake to put the car in gear?
I found that parking brakes that aren't used seem to release when the car is tugged about a foot backwards. Dunno why the car needs to be tugged vs just backed up, it'* merely an observation that I have duplicated a few times.
If it'* the regular brakes, then I'd suspect an adjuster or return spring is broken/out of place.

That'* why I moved here... to get rid of the cold temps and snow.
As far as the brake. No. I've never even touched the park brake because it'* always been parked on a level surface. I DID, however move the parking brake back and forth last night, in hopes that it would free the stuck brake... but thats really the only time I've even touched the park brake.
No brake fluid (or any fluid for that matter) is being lost. The car is in mint condition.
I'm going to replace the nasty brake fluid this weekend and see if I can get it to stick again. Hopefully it'* just dirt in the line.
I AM, however, going to have a friend of mine take the wheel off and clean it, just in case it IS dirt that caused the issue.
Today was rainy and cold (for us) and it never locked up or had brake drag once. Hopefully, this is the ONLY time I will have this issue.
