Default Door rubbing against the fender. UPDATE!

This is a bit of a long and disorderly post...

After about 4 weeks I got the car back. Sitting with the electrical problem turning out the alternator was bad and a wire wasn't plugged in and hanging at my aunts house getting the gauges and the lights looked at by someone. But I wasn't happy when I opened the front passengers side door, it was RUBBING against the fender. I was fuming because that has never happened before, so I'm going WTF to my mother that was accompaning me on this trip and she says that it was doing that when she brought the car here. I was asking her why she didn't tell me sooner which she avoided answering...

So we go home and I open the door and some little white thing pops out of the door molding. Now thats falling off with the door. just fu*king great. So something happened while the car was parked at my grannys house. The car NEVER went anywhere while it was sitting. I'm not sure how it exactly happened but I feel one of my sisters or mother bumped into it and is keeping it from me.Thats the only way I could it see happening. But I can't say for sure if that is the case, theres no new scratches or any dents/dings on the fender or door.

So a question. What could cause this to happen without "outside" interference? or should I suspect that someone bumped into the car enough to do this and not damage it?

And would my recourse of fixing it?

Yeah, that sucks, but it'* not worth splitting the family over. A new clip or three from the junkyard will have you back in business.

I'm not going to do anything with the family. I will just suck it up.

That'* one of the molding clips.

Not a surprise... when I got my 97..I had noise from the driverside for about a year before Pat and I took it off and fixed it. One clip wasn't hooked it.

I had/have the rubbing too. Mine'* from replacing the fender on my car with one from an SE. I adjusted the fender up slightly to get it to sit properly. My door molding though got warpped from people trying to open it, so I have to get a new one.

Once you replace the clip, your problems should be lessened.

Hmmmmm......

Recently I just did a little visual. I THINK I found the issue. The gap between the doors on the drivers side is like (.) wide but the passengers side its like (--) wide. So the doors at fault possibly.

Bash the left edge of the molding so that it moves in a little bit. Hopefully a couple of millimeters is all it takes.
