Well i don't doubt the 99 SSE, i'm just saying the SLE trim style started a lil before the 2k+ body style. But I think SSE hoot heat sheild and bumper are on SSEi'*. I know that the 92 i checked out had it, and one guy here was angry it didn't have his "i" so he painted it on.... I guess GM just considers the SSE and SSEi the same model pretty much, but the "i" on the side just means some more std options, and a supercharger.
It'* gm it'* not supposed to make sense..

I seee what your saying but I was saying that the SLE lineup took over the SSE in 2000+. THats all I know that the SLE'* were still out. I think I pay attention to trims more than anyone out here. MY OWN OPINION, PLEASE THIS IS NOT A FLAME. I AM NOT YELLING. Just had to get that out the way. Don't want know one thinking I am better than anyone because I said that. I just do a lot of observing on vehicles and pretty much can tell a differnce in a car by the way it looks. Tim will tell you. I remeber the labeling of the SLE'* are dated as far back as 1997.

Back to the original :?: All SSE'* and SSEi'* have the SSE letters on the front bumper from 1992-98. The 99'* came with a plain bumper in the middle. Look like its shaved. Has anyone else notice that?

Actually SSESC93 i looked at cars all the time when i was a kid, staring at the badges in traffic figuring out what is what. I know what you mean exactly about the trim levels, can you pick out any car by it'* lights at night too? My parents didn't believe me on that first, then i proved them wrong after about 1 minute.

SLE was an option package from 93-99. They started labeling the SLE on the doors in 1998. In 2000, SLE became a trim level.
SSEi was a trim level in 92 and 93. In 1994 it became an option package on the SSE until 2000, when it became a trim level again.
The SSE trim level ran from 1988 thru 1999. In 2000 it was eliminated.
So you could say that the SSE trim level was replaced with the SLE trim level in 2000, although it may be misleading because the SLE existed before 2000 as an option package.
