Default Canadian Winters + Bonneville'*

Hi Everyone,
A little story for you.
I was going to post it in The Lounge, but thought I'd put it here for now.

A story about Canadian Winter, a Bonneville, and a pregnant wife.

Lookin' out my front door today, this is what we have. Doing mods seems so far away!
I should point out, that with the wind chill, temps today are -22C, or -8F.

Where we get on topic, is this: My frozen car. It'* mighty cold in Southern Ontario today, and we are experienceing quite a "winter event". Blowing snow, poor visibility, and dropping temperatures.

This is my first winter with this car, and it hasn't let me down yet. She roars to life, no problem. Haven't even had to use the block heater (touch wood).

Ah, inside the car now. We have an important mission today. Not a far trip, but in a blizzard it seems long enough. Here is my ugly mug, with my green touqe. It matches the colour of my car. Do you think my car noticed?

Slippery roads today. Too bad my Traction Control isn't working.

Want another frozen car pic? Okay.

What'* the point of all of this? Well, if you have dealt with having a pregnant significant other, you know how they sometimes NEED certain foods. My wife, Lissa is no different. Today it was cabbage rolls. She had to have 'em.

Mmm. Can't you just taste them?

Hope you liked my little story. Goes to show we can count on our cars to keep us out of trouble.

Oh, as soon as this snow melts, you better believe I am going to clean all of this salt and sand off the car.

By the way, during earlier travels today, I was able to help an elderly man who slipped and fell on the side walk. I picked him up, carried him to my car, and asked him if he needed a hospital. He didn't, so I took him to his retirement apartment. A real nice fellow, and I was glad I could do my good deed for the day.

I deserve a whiskey now!
Cheers,
Adam

haha, its -9*F WITHOUT the windchill here. Windchill right now is about -30*F

And yeah, i agree, these cars are EXCELLENT in the cold, even as old as mine, this morning at -14*F, she started right up And gotta love that heater.

Your car looks very frozen mine doesn't look that way, it just is totally white from the salt, roof, trunk, hood, lights, etc. everything, salt. and i can't wash it cause its TOO cold! I can barely even see my lights in the day from all the salt covering them. Dumb salt. oh well, enjoy the remainder of your canadian winter.

Hi Folks,
(Dill, the baby is due end of March / early April.
A little girl this time!
We have a 4 year old boy, so we were quite thrilled to hear of a little girl this time!)

Ack, things have gone from bad to worse here. I just returned from picking up my wife'* Grandma from the hospital. It'* mighty cold out right now. With the wind chill I would guess it'* -32C or so.

Glad to hear from the seasoned Bonnie owners that our cars won't let us down!

Touch wood.

Where is that whiskey?

Cheers,
Adam
