Default Looking for Scan Tool with Data Logging for OBD1

I own a scan tool but would like to get one with data logging so I can review what is going on after a drive. I've heard about setups for notebooks but there seems to be alot of them out there and I really dont know what would be best for me. Just looking for peoples opinion and recomendations.

It would help to know what year and trim level your car was. We can't even begin to answer until we know that.

Please edit your profile and add that information to your signature.

(moving topic to general chat since it isn't a performance enhancing topic)

Dead link, SJ. Takes me to a zipcode entry.

Keep in mind we don't know WHICH version of OBD1 he has. So let'* verify that when we know what year he has and what connector he actually has under the dash.

the zip code is just to get a correct price. this is a obd 1 and 2. it should work for the 94 and 94 obd 1.5'*. but it would probably be best to e-mail the manufacturer if that is what he has.

so back to bills question of year and trim level

SJ, that is not a scantool. That is simply a code-reader that displays the definition of the code.

In addition:
OBD1 Coverage:
General Motors – 1982 to 1993 and some 1994 to 1995 models
This usually means the GM vehicles that were NOT obd1.5 hybrids like the Bville.

I see nothing on that tool above that actually shows that it scans in realtime. The PC connection is only for 'flash updating' the code definitions from windows. Not for logging.

1993 SSEi - I'd really like a setup for a notebook over a handheld.

You'll need alot of money for a laptop or palm/handheld. Nobody really supports it. You have to piece it together and buy components from several sources.

The best bet is an actron CP9110. It will record for playback, but will not download to a PC. That'* what every single Series1 owner here uses. Or at least the vast majority.

I have a labtop and iphone so that is taken care of. I also wanted to save the logs so I could cross analyze them.
