Oil pressure is acting the exact same as it did before I got the engine rebuilt the first time. With only the front bearing blown (it was split and gone-not hurting anything)

That my be true, but if it is just a blown cam bearing its probably not going to hurt anything. I ran mine like that for 8,000kms before I got feed up with the ding ding ding...

I do hope that he will have a soulution... If he gives the car back and gets his money back than I hope he will be able to find a good car... No matter what kind of car it is.. Its just a shame that this happened...
The car definatley had to have the intake issue prior to the crash, rebuild and my purchase. It had been using antifreeze like crazy as soon as I bought it
It also sat for 1.5yrs like i was saying earlier...so...as for the bottom end being toast...
I am thinking the same things....

I spoke with the seller..he ask me to change the oil and filter a couple times to see...
I was hoping he may drop the pan and change the pump and oil pan screen...
but..I also told him the the "professionals" here think the bottom end, is near its end...
and he said he has spent enough on this car (intake failure repairs) and will give my
money back to me if the oil changes don't do anything...

So....I changed the oil today....no changes...
I am sure this poor thing will be gone within a week...

Here is the senario....
I am 30yrs old with 4 kids...and my wife and i work split shifts to pay for our first house
that we just bought in november...
Funds are tight....car repairs can't happen....and chances can't be taking with 4 little ones in it...
Ultimately....I am too worried with the condition of this motor to hold on to it......

I thank all you guys for your input and concerns....I really do appreciate it...

I'm sorry, I gave up kids and new things till 29 to pay off my house. Im pretty sure that if you got the engine rebuilt/or one with low miles it will run a whole lot better/longer then if where to buy another 2500 dollar car. I just got my engine rebuilt, and it costed 900cdn in parts(my price, and I have friends in automotives).

Series 2 3800 out of an 02(not sure if that changes much) but as you can see there are other options.

I have yet to see a "Cam Brng" failure roll through the shop on ANY 3800!

I know where you're coming from TRUST ME! I'm 39, married with 2 boys, had my bottom end go in my 92 SE! I sold the car instead! Felt that buying another car for $3000 was better than investing $3000 into my Bonneville! I needed DEPENDABLE transportation! I was sinking too much $$$ into the Bonneville since last year too! Had to draw the line somewhere!

Please however get another bonnie. they are honestly the most dependable cars ive ever had. if you lived in MS i could get you a used engine for around350 american funds. That is how much i paid for my series I but i could get a series II for that much also. You have worked so hard to make that car beautiful, dont let him get it back, do a cheap fix, and sell it for twice as much. Try a few bone yards around your area and try to find a good used engine. i found mine with about 88-100 XXX on it and it runs fantastic again!!!!

I would presume his car would carry the ''rebuilt'' flag so its not going to get much more then 3,000 with a working engine.
