Metal Intakes for Series I and II N/A'*
Everyone who owns a car with one of the two 3800 engine'* are in need of a better intake. Is there any way to contact the manufacturers about making a metal intake. I can no believe there is not one out there yet after all the problems we have with the plastic ones. I would be willing to pay what ever it takes to get one. These intakes are big problems. How can we get metal ones in production?? Maybe if all of us contact the edelbrock co. or something they will see about making one. There is a huge market for after market intakes. Every N/A owner, whether it be in a Buick, Pontiac, or Chevy would be more than willing to buy one in order to save thier engines. There has to be something we can do. Hell I would make them myself if I could. Speedguy, is there anyay you know of we can get this. If theres turbo kits being made for these cars why cant we get something as simple and as much needed as a better intake? Lets do something good for GM kind. Lets try to somehow get these made. Whos with me on this??

maybe better intake as far as gaining some hp would be nice as well, as long as its metal and doesn't crack and hydrolock engine

Speedyguy can get you one, but I think it'* a little $$$$. You arent the only one wanting a metal upper intake, GM should just make one and sell them as replacement. :?

Dan, you have a Series I. It'* not prone to the failure of the Series 2. You can also get an Aluminum upper off a 92 SE or SSE and convert. Series 2 can't.
Angry Duck Tofu Racing did develop a Series 2 sheetmetal upper, but it produced so much power, he destroyed his transmission. The cost and the danger was high.

oh ok, I have had no idea you could get a metal one from a 92 . My last engine failed due to the intake. I hate plastic parts to begin with. Plus My brother in laws Regal is series II and I would like to buy a metal one for it (cause I would like to buy that car off him at some point). I will start looking at junk yarda for the intake for my engine.
Thanks again Will, You seem to be the man who answers all my questions. I still would like to see a good metal intake made. I would buy it in a heartbeat, for both 3800'* (if I dont find one at a just yard for my series 1
