IMO, the tan just don't look right, the red is rather bright, the black adds a very nice contrast.

I agree with Dan. Tan looks odd, and red, imo, is overdone. Black all the way!

I say do red, you cant tell anything from some flat paint in photoshop, if you want I can whip up a color replacement that way you can have a better idea what it will really look like as opposed to seeing red blotches, I dont think the black would match well, and the tan would be too out of the ordinary, red accents would be awesome if you do the right color, and not too much of it.

imo dont do red inside where the guages are, if I were you I would get those white backgrounds for the guages that would set that area off nicely

and then im thinking some carbon fiber overlays for the switch (only on the outer ring), shift ring, and vent rings

now that looks better, all the red in the guages would just be overkill, i like the carbon fiber idea, ill see what i can do about editing the pic tomorrow as im about to go to bed now.

Go for the red, but only if you can see a better mock-up first (or a final product, if you find a color swap kit).

not the greatest but you can see some of the contour and edges red as opposed to just seeing red i think if you were to do it it would look pretty cool, i was going back and forth on the air vents but idk that might be overkill, its up to you though
