Default "SSE" front bumper NEON!! Suggestions please

I was thinking of painting my "SSE" on the front bumper gold. But then I thought about cutting out the SSE and putting a red, or other color, neon behind it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this. And how to hook the neon to my headlights or something. I'm sure if I drove with it on I'd get pulled over...but who knows.

I'll Photoshop it and post a pic soon.

Personally I love the idea.

alot of people put reflective tape in there letters but an actual glowing unit would be fun.

I was thinking of putting one on my back bumper reading "Daddy kicked your a$$"
LOL

I thought of the tape, but it would be hard to make it look good since the *'* and E is curved so much. I'd have to cut the tape in pieces for it to curve... :?

I originally thought of just gold pinstriping, but I want a clean look. I'm still debating on it.

Your idea for the back bumper sounds good too

You should check your local laws before doing anything like that.
Most places (I believe) do not allow you to have any blue lights on your car, and only red lights if they are on the back of the car. Even then the law is open to debate.

I had a red neon lp frame on for like a year. The RCMP never bothered me, but the city police wouldn't leave me alone. Never got a ticket for it, just warnings. Although it was technically legal (in my province) the cops were just too anal. I got tried be being pulled over so I took it off.

If it is illegal and you still want to do it, for effect, you can. Just besure to be able to turn it on/off, and don't have it on while the car is on public roads, or in motion. If you want to do it in your driveway, or while parked at the local Tim Hortons (aka local coffee place), that'* perfectly legal, or at least should be.

Yeah, I know it is illegal here, but only when driving. So I wanted to see if anyone knew how to wire it so I could turn it on & off. I don't know much about that stuff yet.

I made my rear turn signals red, and my license plate lights red, but I shouldn't get stopped for that though. Corvettes have red rear turn signals

If the cops give me a hard time...well...I won't change 'em back. It is legal. They may have their own interpretation of the law, and I have mine. But they look sweet all red in back

You could hook up a switch that sits in one of the console pieces maybe even one that matches the seat switches. You would just have to run a positive power signal into the switch, then take it to the light, and the ground off the light goes onto the frame/body of the car. I would suggest a green light behind it for your car. Blue lights facing forward will get you pulled over right away, and i'm sure cops wouldn't like red either. Glowing green would be sweet. What if you put some LED lights in where the side of a license bracket goes, where it flares out for the bumper shining onto a reflective SSE? That way it would still reflect, and they wouldn't be forward facing either.Kinda like a rear license plate light but for the SSE.

You could always use gold leaf material and put it into the SSE if you dont go to the light option.

Ive always hasd this sweet idea of using ELECTROLUMINESCENT STRIPs. They are a paper thin strip that you run electrisity through and it glows grre/red depending on what kind you buy. It has practically NO HEAT and can be cut and bent. Use this if you (any of you) have electronic experience. The ones on sale form www.allelectronics.com use either a battery for the sets or 120vac for the strips. Im gonna have so much fun when i get a job
