To do that, I believe you'll need new transmission, trans mount, PCM, and possibly something else. But I could be completely wrong.

Wiring harness, and may have to modify the motor mounts.

Wiring harness, with changes at the firewall.
PCM as it'* a different one and lives in the engine bay
Trans is the same. Change the flexplate to a 245mm to mate up to your trans.

Easiest PCM/Wiring would be a 96 Bonneville. That year it had the 4T60 and S2 L67.

series 2 3800 wont fit in a Ford Contour/Mercury Mystique.

Just go buy a v6 contour or an SVT contour and put a 3 liter and a turbo on it. You would spend more money and time on trying to put a 3800 in it than it would ever be worth, unless you are trying to make a dedicated quarter mile car, since that is the only place you could ever find a gain if you were to find a 4t60 and find a way to fit that and the 3800 into a contour.

a V6 contour compared to a 4 cyl is a world of difference, an SVT, even more. Wait till you can afford something other than a 4 cylinder 95 mystique before you spend all your time planning something that you have no reason to EVER do. Trust me, I owned a 4 cylinder contour and a v6 contour. With some suspension mods, and a few bolt-ons, it was a pretty fun car.

I know looking into your engine bay with that 2 liter there, it looks like you have a TON of room. If you ever looked in the engine bay of a V6 contour, you would realize how small that engine bay was.

well find you said you were going to take measurements on your bonnie i would like to know what you found?
ya i know how much room is in a v6 contour they have the same unibody as a 4 banger. my idea for the car was to maybe drive every so offen in the summer got to car shows and take it to the track. My contour has no motor in it ive taken measurements and it looks like it will fit. last year i crashed my contour luckly there wasnt any frame damage i just need to put a core support in it plus body panels its realy not that bad. so i have a contour siting in my barn that i can do anything with pretty much. i know how fun thoughs cars can be even if it * a 4 banger thats why i like them so much and wana try a swap. like i said on contour forums i start my job tomorow and you plan stuff out before you start it

If your thinking of dropping a Series II into a completley different platform, be warned. You are looking at extensive frame modifications, custom metal fabrication, electronics, wiring, etc.

And since when does a 4L60-E mate up to a 3800? If thats the case, I'm taking my 4.3 and dropping it into my car.
