Default Changing Air Filter

I'm a new Bonne owner and just checked my air filter. Would I like to kick the butt of the engineer that designed that airbox! I unhooked hose from TB and unhooked sensor wire, but still had a helluva time getting the filter out/in. Is that rear piece supposed to lift out?

Yup. Unsrew the two philips screws, pull back on the top of the rear section and twist the rear of the box up with the intake hose attached to the TB. Might be easier to remove the hose altogether.

I undo the two bolts that secure the entire box to the front radiator support, undo the intake tube at the throttle body and the IAT sensor and lift the entire assembly out of the car. Then unscrew the bolts holding the front piece to the back piece and it pretty much falls open. Much easier than leaving the box in the engine bay.
