SSEI or GXP???? Need opinions
Well coming up next month i'm in the car shopping market, and looking at some used bonneville'*. I have about 17K to spend, however i'm not sure if i want to spend the entire thing.
I'm kinda of torn at this point between looking at a 2004 GXP, or a 2003 SSEI. I can find both cars with similar miles (around 40,000) however the price is much different. I could probably get the ssei for around 14K, where the gxp is more around 16.5-17K.
What are your guys thoughts between the two cars, are either more reliable than the other? Quality? I'm not really into modding, i used to have a grand prix GTP, and i did the whole mod thing and it hurt me financially in the long run. I just want a well built, break free car. I really do like the lines of the GXP and the ext. more than the ssei, but if both cars are so similar, then i don't know if i can justify spending an additional 3K. I'm going to try to get a warranty throught GM on whichever vehicle i end up going for.
Thoughts?

Drive both cars if you haven't already; the suspension and drive trains both respond very differently.
If you don't want to mod then i would personally go with the GXP, because i prefer the higher RPM power vs low end torque; and also because the GXP just looks better

If the GXP requires only regular gas get that. It will be more affordable in the long run. If it still requires premium then get the SSEi and save your cash.

GXP. You'll prefer the drivetrain, the Northstar system and its 4T80E tranny can't be beat.

the GXP is better in someways though, either model I'm sure you'll be happy with
check out "2000 and newer" and the "GXP N*" to find out the problems and such with both than go test drive both

the N* DOES require high octane gas just like the SSEi does I suggest using nothing but what'* requierd for your car to run at it'* best.

I like the GXP - I own an SSEi and wanted the GXP 'cause it does drive differently. Take each car out for a long test drive on the same course and give each an equal run for the money. See which you like better.

Since you're looking for opinions, I'll offer mine:
I've driven both stock, and I prefer the SSEi. I love the torqueyness that the GXP just didn't have. Also, it gets better mileage than the GXP if you don't have a lead foot.
However, I rarely do highway driving. I would say that'* the difference. If you're going to be doing mainly highway driving, then get the GXP, as that'* where the Northstar shines.
If you're doing mainly city driving, go with the SSEi. Better mileage, and better strength.
