Default coolant colors

What colors does coolant come in, I had a flush a while ago and asked for all makes all vehicles and my coolant is still pinkish what brand would it be , I thought it would be prestone but I bought a separate all makes all vehicle yellow jug prestone and it was yellow green.can we have a thread with make and color as I did a search and there is lots of threads but none explaining which is which really.

you want the yellow/green.

the orange/pink coolant is DEX, and you don't want that.

I dont think orange/ pink is only dex, there is other coolant that is orangeish.I specifically asked for all makes all vehicles.

I'm sure there are exceptions to this but......

Bright Deep Green = Old phosphate coolant (does not mix with DEX)
Orange = Dex organic acid technology coolant (does not mix with phosphates)
Yellow or Yellow Green = New "mixes with any color" G-05 specification (sold at Wal Mart)

I have seen other colors including red and purple, but these are mostly dealer specific and are not widely available in the aftermarket.

Because of the possibility of getting it wrong, the safe approach is to use a coolant that says on the label "mixes with any color."

Well Haro your right.I looked out receipt and it says Dex.I went back and told them I want it out and he said I have to talk to manager in the morning.Pisses me off.I specifically told lady twice at counter I want all makes in and she even wrote it on her invoice.My own fault for trusting them.They will fix this believe me.
