Default Railroad crossing arms. Whew!

Came up to a crossing yesterday, the arms had just come down. That means Wendy'* gonna get cold before I get home. I looked to the right, train was just sitting there a couple hundred yards down. Just then, the arms started coming up. Cool, I'll sneak through. Gave it throttle, and just past the point of no return, the arms start coming down. Thank god for the impressive Bonneville rolling start. Gunned it, smoked 'em, and barely got out of there with clean paint. Nearly took my sunroof out. I was actually looking up at that stupid arm as it just missed my car. Launched over the rise of the tracks pretty good, too. Helluva show for the guy sitting on the other side in the opposite lane. I hope he enjoyed the smell!

Whoa! Glad you got through. Gotta be careful around railroad tracks. I just sit back and try to relax. There'* not much to do when a train is coming.

The damn thing wasn't even moving. It was the crossing arms that were dangerous! I actually have active tracks that run right down the middle of my street. 2 trains a day. 4 feet from my car.
