???? 41 tooth ring gear/12 tooth pinion gear = 3.42.
Always divide your ring gear teeth by the pinion gear teeth to get your ratio. Not sure of what your thinking/wondering here. Most things I read recommend ratio'* higher than 4 if you running large tires.

My truck (bubba) has 3:42'* and my father in law has one but i have to pull the cover and see if its 342'* also and thats what i thought is i would see 41:12 and have to divide it and get like 341.66666666 ect aka 342

And with the big tires you got,... maybe why the fail??? hehehe
Here a good calculator page for some neat things including..... Find new Gear Ratio with new tire size.
If your gonna mod things, you should follow physical laws, or your going to get bit everytime.

Yeah yeah yeah thats more work than i want to do right now.....The camaro will be on the road in about a week and a half...I bought the intrepid this mornin and got it plated so driving it for the time being till i get the camaro done then itll get put up and be a back up...bubba wont see many miles i just need to get him going for now if i need to haul stuff....I am planning to put him back stock maybe with like 285'* and pick up another 80'* era and build it into a toy im not sure yet...later down the road if i keep bubba as he is i will swap to 373'* at least...Not trying to be rude or sarcastic John thank you for helping me on this and if im sounding rude i am sorry its not intentional just been a long week and im tired lol....But for now i am putting another 342 in and calling it good till i decide his eternal fate!..Also a 383 against a 250k rear end may help with the fail lol

Still not making sense to me Dakota. You sound like Raptor with Audio here (and not trying to be rude) You drive a certain way your not going to change, you say you dont want more work than you have. You tore one rear end out. The second with the same tires and lead foot is going to give you the same results. FAIL. ;-P Sorry... in the mood.

Lol no lead foot here man...not in my bubba anyways like i said im not sure what route im going as far as tires go...if im keeping the 33 12.5;* or w/e i decide now that i have the intrepid and will have the camaro done next week he will only see an occasional drive kinda like the venom so for now it should be fine....i just..idfk man im so flusterd and tired right now thanks John

All good Man, just pickin. I had a 76 Dodge when alot younger and went thru two rear ends with the monster tires. But by then the drunk bumps, a tired tranny, and a rattling engine sent it to the boneyard.

Yeah Bubba is sitting at 249852 miles getting old ORIG trans 70k down with the 383 who knows how many left...never gives me any flack but when it goes a 5 speed will be swapped in for sure...Im thinking of just going back near stock with 285'* and throwing the 33'* roll bar and brush guard on another truck like said maybe pick up a 78-87 silverado or scottsdale but this rear end that my father in law has is th HD 1500 (14 bolt cover) as opposed to 10 so it should hold up better idk man im barley awake im going to bed and will start fresh in the AM night John thanks for all the advice

14 bolt is a popular swap, it will last alot longer than a 10 bolt. i dont know why everybody is picking on you for blowing up your rear honestly i talk to alot of people and youve got most miles on a ten bolt with a g80 ive heard of. stock or otherwise. if the axle is still with the truck you can use this chart;
GQ1 -- AXLE REAR, STD RATIO
GT4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.73 RATIO
GT5 -- AXLE REAR, 4.10 RATIO
GU4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 -- AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 -- AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
G80 -- locking diff for trucks or lsd for cars
HC4 -- AXLE REAR, 4.56 RATIO
