Default programmable keyfobs?

Hey,

Anyone know if it is possible to buy the programmable keyfobs for an '03 ssei that did not come with them as an option?

Do I need to change out a transeiver? Is it as simple as buying and programming the fobs?

any ideas?

thanks,
-Me

Please put your Bonneville'* year and trim level in your signature so the Gearheads can help you easier.

I believe from your introduction post that you have a 2K+ Bonny. I thought all 2K+ Bonnevilles had key fobs but I may be wrong.

The dealer should have one but that would be at a premium cost. i am sure others will chime in with lower cost options.

Than ks for the reply,

I will work on a sig to put on here.

I have a 03 bonneville ssei. It has one keyfob, but it is a standard fob. I am wondering if I can buy a second one (this one programmable) and have it work, or if a programmable fob would require added appliances since it did not come with programmable fobs.

thanks

Any keyfobs that have the same FCC ID should work. You will need a dealer to program it.

your car has programmable fobs from the factory... your fob that you have should have a 1 of a 2 on the back. IF so that is the corresponding number that the car has to be programmed in

and yes the dealer has to program the Fobs when you get new ones

so keyfob 1 automatically adjusts to driver 1s presets and #2 adjusts to driver 2? There isn't a speacial fob with extra buttons?

that would sound good then because it would be one less fob to buy.

thanks

Yes, as log as you have the memory seat option (standard on an SSEi) the seat memory is chosen by what keyfob is used to unlock the door.
