Default Successful yet cold weekend

Alright gentlemen, the motor/tranny mount replacement job was a huge success. much better handling, and with all the play in the block gone, it almost feels like i picked up a little bit more power at the wheels. Also the curse of the squeaking brakes has also been taken care of. Turns out one of the back plates to the rotors had been bent inward, formin a small lip, that continuosly rubbed against the back of the rotor. Very annoying. anyways a few gentle yet persuasive taps with a rubber mallet and presto, whisper quiet brakes, to go along with my newly mounted powerhouse. I am noticing after the mount job, that when i start the car, the actual sound of the engine firing is a lot more aggressive now. same story with the idle. everything sounds noticeably louder. any thoughts? (no pics, it was too cold to worry about snappin any shots.)

That extra play in the mount might have dampened the engine vibration. With a tighter mount, your going to feel more. You were use to the play, now you have to get use to the new vibration.

I was thinkin the same thing mike. It kinda shocked me when i first started her up. it was like a brand new car. Then i took her out on the highway, and it was like "Ooooooooh. Is this how bonnies are supposed to ride?" I loved it.

I wonder what mine would feel like after almost 200,000 miles.

Prolly would be a beast as well. Im creepin up on 130,000. I did some minor mods before i got this stuff fixed, new plugs, gutted airbox, cooler t-stat, nothing that would gaurantee any huge power gains but still would improve the performance of the car. Feeling it all as it should be for the first time is pretty nice. i plan on changing the oil this afternoon, along with the oil pressure switch, front o2 sensor and fuel filter. Im on a mod high right now can't wait til spring to do the LIM gasket and SC gasket swaps.
