All we have locally is Actron @ $219 for one that will display live data.
What other models and prices is everyone using?

there are many...depends on your price range and needs.

I recently picked up the Autotap after seeing a couple others with it.

From my limited experience, AutoTap is the way to go. You get a TON of parameters to monitor, and the price isn't too bad. I think I'll be getting an AutoTap when I go back on the market for a scan tool.

You also have the option of picking up DHP PowrTuner or HP Tuners software, which would allow you to scan and edit your PCM. They also seem to be well worth their cost.

The gauge is very nice.. logging data for hours on end with mine is also very nice..I can look at it in excel and know what happened when..

It'* really a matter of what do you need/want

I'd love one that had some ability to log. Thats be great for troubleshooting!
The minimum I'll settle for is live data. Having just a code reader is just about useless imo.

For those that ask why, I pose this; your gas mileage goes to crap and there are no codes. What do you do? Start testing every indiviual sensor? Shotgun them? Test your injectors? Live data might show that the computer thinks your coolant is only at 50 degrees and therefor running in cold engine mode.

I bought an ElmScan, and I recently upgraded to an Elmscan 5.

Ive got my old tool for sale if your interested.

Its a raw board, but I can mod it into a case for ya.

Its a OBDII (1996+) VPW standard, so it'll do any vehicle thats VPW. It hooks up to your laptop so you can do data logging and live monitoring, Plus clear codes.

Its powertrain only though.

$35+*/H (w/case you mod)
$45 +*/H (W/case I mod)
