I'm sure it would work just fine, might be alittle trickier to mount some of the things but no biggie. I did the flip side of that once; I had bulit a pc for a friend of mine I took a 10" or 12" (forget which one) red neon I had laying around and hooked it up in his case which didn't have any windows. He said when he turned it on, he thought it was on fire.

I mentioned this idea a while back, and people went ballistic on me!!

I would imagine the computer lights aren't as bright, but depending on what you wanna do, 12v is 12v....

just keep in mind, a cars voltage changes from 12ish to almost 14.5. Which in many cases can be enough to blow out LED'* and neon tubes that aren't designed for more than exactly 12 volts.

good point..but some of the led setups say Voltage range 12-14 volts DC... and the screw hole parts im not to worried about i'll rig something up...i was even thinkin of rippin the side door lights out compleatly and mounting a 3 bar led case light in them..i mean hell...if you buy more then 3 at this one site i found they are only 2.50 each and the 5 led bar brackets are 6.99 each...

now next all i need to do is find a way to get the undercar lights at a cheaper price..im sick of advanced autos and other places rediculus prices..

and does anyone know if my 97 should have a light under the hood somewhere im missing? cuz theres no light there i see

I had 2 CCFL (cold cathode) lights in my car, and after about 6 weeks the tubes broke inside from vibrations. i wouldnt recommend using them based on my experience

By the way..just to let you all know i got my order of PC led lights and starting installing today...so far it looks good...i'll get pics when i get the whole part of this lighting project done.So far i replaced the side door lights with 3 beam led(all 4 doors (after cracking a few coverplates and pull tabs ::not the best design:
and i put a 3beam led swaped with the light in the truck..
next 2 3beams leds under each back seat and 1 5beam under the hood

By the way my mistake on putting this thread here..it should be moved to Detailing & Appearance if someone can do that.
