Buying a Bonnevile, please help.
Hry everyone, here is the deal. I am in a market right now for a bonnie 92 and up. Today I saw a 92 SSEi and i cannot deciede either to buy it or not and here is why. The car is in a great condiotion the interioir is spotless and everything works just perfect inside the car. But, there is a problem with the supercharger, when the car is in idle and I poped up the hood, the supercharger was making a kind of a knocking sound it seemed to me like there was a problem with a bearing> i could not hear the sound inside the car and also the supercharger worked, at hight RPM i could feel it click and the car started to accelerate. I was wondering if thats a common problem and if it is will i be able to fix it myself or a mechanic will do better. Also would like to mention the car has got 320 KM on it altough the ovner swears that he had put Syntetic oil ever 6k and he showed me papers that the tranny was rebulit 8 month ago. The price is 1700 Cnd which is aproximetly 1100 US. What you guys and gals think is that a good deal or not? thanks in advance.

matter a fact if u can test drive the car
i mean really test drive it first punch da gas and see how the supercharger acts
if it blows it wont be ur fault u can rebuild it and get a lower price also dont forget to hit the corners hard and jack the car up and check the mounts and suspension parts
and compression test and a fuel rail test 2 i know it sounds a lot but its worth it thats what i did with my 92 bonnie and it runs lovely they wanted 3900 i got them down to 900 US DOLLARS

That'* a very common problem with the superchargers. The coupler has gone bad, and if you are handy you can replace it. If not you can have the nose cone replaced instead.

Thanks for replaying everyone, I will take one more look at the car tomorow, is that expensive to rebuilt an engine and are there different ways of doing it?
