I'm guessing we'll hear a lot more out of Pontiac in March-April. I've already got March 12 set aside for the MNPLS Auto Show. :P
I expect GM to ditch Bonneville since Impala just got a redesign. GM really won't hurt all that bad if they kill Bonneville either. . .

G8.com and G8Club.com are both taken already.....

I'm still holding out hope for a 2007 Bonneville.... 50th Anniversary

If no 2007 Bonnie.... I'm going GTO.

We shouldn't have to change the name just because GM wants to can the Bonneville. Yes its all well and good that they are coming out with the G8, but the G8 owners should at least know their history especially if it turns out to be a sedan, the G8 would be a descendant of the Bonneville and the people need to know that.
On another note, if the new engine is going to be a 400hp 6.0L that sounds like a LS2 block, which is used in the C6 Corvettes, so modding shouldn't be that much of a problem.

2005 may be the last model year for the 3800, Bonneville dead, Grand prix 2006 dead, Impala 2006 dead, monte carlo 2006 dead, all going to 5300 V8. The 3800 is being replaced by a 240hp 3.9 V6. not sure if it * 60 or 90 degree. but we might as well say buy buy to the 3800 :(

Did some Googling, and the 3900 V6 (LZ is 3500 based. 60º.

With 240hp at 5900rpm and 245lb-ft at 2800rpm, I'd roll in it.

Unfortunately Impala and Monte Carlo won't suffer the same fate as Bonneville. They just get new suspensions, interiors, and powertrains. Oh yeah, they follow the GM tradition of getting fuglier as the years pass too. Sounds like GM is ready to ditch the 3800 series eh?
