Bad news for me -interesting for all of you.
Just found out something that makes me not so happy. I just found out that my 1997 Buick Park Avenue was made 3 months BEFORE (3/97) my 1997 Bonneville SSE (6/97) parts car, yet the Park Avenue has a 4T65E and my 1997 Boneville has a 4T60E.
The Park Avenue'* tranny rpo code is MN3 and my parts car has FW2. So now I have to go buy a trans.
So, for those of you needing a tranny for your 1997 Bonneville don't look to get one from a 1997 Park Avenue -they have the newer tranny (no wonder it'* bad). :(
I was lucky and found one with 93k on it for $400 from the same yard as the the seats I'm getting. The trans comes with a 60 day warranty so that'll be nice.
Now I've got to go get a cherry picker (I want to pull the whole drivetrain out and detail the engine bay of the PA even though it'* not real dirty).

If I have to do a tranny in here I wonder if it'd be worth it to get an HD tranny as they are everywhere for 1997 (any GM model with the 1997 L67 has a tranny that will fit in a Park Ultra). 4T65E HD from a yard for $400 and $180 to Intense for a standard PCM with gearing tables adjusted for 2.97'*.
