***UPDATE*** AUG 21...


New engine is being installed, Took a while to find a good engine, Said something bout free hiflo catback..didnt pay attention..

Idler pulley and the timing chain are being replaced too AHHHH

Only thing thats still stock on my car engine wise...no joke..is the radiator..

You know what really got me, I have driven so many cars, and for a full size...IMO sedan, This thing hauls A**....Its a speed demon..Gimme time and pix will be up after all is said and done

Ok i kno this is old..but..i think this ****** is givin me a series 1, i went to shop tonight, 5 minsd ago in my 87 regal custom, halls *** btw...and isaw the 2 enginges next to each other....the engine that was hangin up , was that the 1 he was puttin in? cuz if so, then im in good shape..if not the one that wasnt hangin up, looked like a series 1, with rust everywhere,, the black bubles on top of engine were smaller, un likes the series 2...help.

on the othert hand, where the intake is, it doenst look like u could put a series 1 in a series 2 car..

Pro, welcome back!

As far as which engine you're getting, ask the mechanic! Hopefully he is not so clueless that he has no idea what is going in... and an engine with rust all over it etc. does not seem like a reasonable rebuild. Obviously all 3800'* are not created equal, and your mechanic of all people shoul know this. Speak up for your rights as a paying customer NOW, and don't wait until the shop is done (and it'* too late)!
