Default BonneMe Is pissed...

So i'm trying to remove my door panels today, for a few reasons
1) Drivers door speaker hasn't worked with either stereo.
2) Passenger front door isn't on 100%
3)Rear drivers side window rarely works, sometimes it makes a grinding noise.

So the drivers door is the most important right now, and i get to it. There seems to be glue on the light part, inside the clear plastic, and some on the white behind it. So that didn't come out, and i think there are screws behind it. Well I turned the light bulbs in it to pull it, and they are in the door now. Behind the pull handle, the torx bolt is attatched to some plastic. Well that plastic had broken off from the rest of it, so there'* a little tab behind it. This is the same door that has a heavily fractured mirror housing as well. Is 4 $(*&#$ working speakers and windows too much to ask!?!? Looking back at the bumpercover, It'* like some damn 2 year old put this car together after it hit something....

Anyone in MN got a spare door panel?

SSEi95, wanna get together before the meet on saturday?

Not sure how much time I will have this weekend to do anything. I got a lot of catchup work to do around the house. I can however take a look at it while we are there and see what I can do. If you still need help in a week or two (assuming my schedule frees up some) I can help you fix it then.

Hope you get your door fixed soon. Sure bites when a previous owner leaves you some 'treats' to discover.

Take it with a grain of salt, I got a few pieces of plastic broken on my doors and I'm not crying about it.
You have to think that an 10/11 yr. old car that has been through all sorts of crazy temperature changes, the plastic pieces will be brittle.

That'* why I lift and tilt so it all comes off in one piece. I can take a door panel off and put it back on in a little over 5 minutes.

1. Pull the power mirror control trim off
2. Remove phillips screw behind pm control trim
3. Use flat screw driver at the back of light on door panel
Put tip between light and door panel
Pull handle of screw driver towards back of door
Pull light out

4. Remove two Phillips screws behind light
5. Remove phillips screw driver to remove 2 screws at bottom around the speaker bulge
6. Pry bottom of door panel from the door
7. Disconnect all wires coming from in door
8. Lift up at the rear while slowly tilting forward

Panel should come off easily and in one piece.

Reverse order for remounting.

Jason, if the door panel in my 1992 SE was grey I'd give it to you. I'll check on my friends 1993 SSE parts car as that had grey leather, but I am unsure of the panels condition as the car was hit hard in the drivers door.

Hope this all helps,
Martin

Ok, so when everyone says the lights, do they mean the red part, or the clear? I pulled the clear front, and the white half WOULD NOT come out. the bulbs went intot he door, made a noise, i grabbed to allen wrenches, and stuck them thru the hole, and tried to pull the white out, they made a spark, and now my interior lights don't work. (yes i just drove home @ 3am. Dash still works, and so does he LED in the door handle area, that shines down on the controls). So what now. I couldn't figure how to geth the wiring out of the mirror **** if you have to do that. Maybe you guys can help me out. Martin, i wouldn't need the whole door, just some smaller pieces really, so it may be fine, bring it if you can.

Thanks guys, again.

it'* not the red plastic that has the screws behind it right, it'* the clear one?

Jason, both the white and the clear are supposed to come out together.
By light I mean the clear lensed light. The red one is just a reflector.
You probably crossed some wires with the allen wrenches -check your fuses.
For the Mirror wiring, you can wait to unplug that until you have all the screw removed and can pull the panel away from the door at the bottom and on the sides.
Good luck.
No doubt you probably are still sleeping right now, but I will be gone for about 3-4 hours this morning (back between 11:30-12:30). If you want pm me your phone # and I'll call you when i get back and I will talk you through the process (digital pics taken and posted as needed).

Martin
