Grrrr
After getting off work Friday night around 9:30pm, I walk out to see a pile of glass by my drivers side door with a few wires stuck in the door. Woo-hoo! my first burglary. I'm excited. Oh wait, scratch that- I'm pissed off. Thats more like it. Apparently the numb nuts thought wrenching a screwdriver between the glass and the pillar would help. Thanks buddy.
Hmm, what'* missing? I swear there was something there before....
That'* right, my stereo is missing. Along with the dash kit and the $120 Metra OEM adapter for 2000+.
Looks like I get a new screwdriver for my tool collection. Hmmm, nope. Still pissed.
Atleast that is basically the extent of the major damage and theft. Here'* some of the small damage.
The cops care enough not to send anyone out. Glad I'm getting my taxes' worth...
So Saturday morning I scramble to try to find some glass before work, as it looks like a long, rainy weekend forecast. But, the only junkyard open on a Saturday had nothing, nor did any of the glass shops, body shops, or dealers. Swell.
Looks like Lowes offered my only salvation by having some acrylic sheets on hand.
Line it up, trace the shape. Score the tracing.
Snap along the score line, put in window track, and tuck some weather stripping along the inside for a tight fit.
At least I don't have to suffer driving a bonne with plastic taped to the window. Now, I just have to wait until Wed. or Thurs. for some glass to come in. And I have to look for a new CD player again.

Please tell us that you had insurance. That would suck to pay out of pocket. A lot of us here on BC feel your pain... really sorry to hear about your loss on the car. Somtimes you just get unlucky to have something nice that some idiot wants. It has happened to me too - but not on my Bonny. When you get your new stereo, I'd get an alarm at the same time. Maybe you can get a deal?
Good luck!
