when I look at Pontiac magazine ads from the '90'* I think the people creating these ads must have really enjoyed their jobs

are you sure about that? Doesn't really look like a Bonneville to me but I could be wrong.

Looks more like an Aurora/Alero with just the parking lights on... Sort of like an Integra but it'* too rounded.
