I was talking with some ricer-owning friends and we got into an argument over transmissions on Bonneville'*. As far as I know there has never been an SSEi with a manual transmission, is this correct? What Bonneville'* have had manuals if any?

Never a front wheel drive manual transmission Bonneville. Not sure about the older rear wheel drive ones though.

You can do a manual conversion, but no, no factory manuals.

i think the W bodys had a rarely built GP with a 5 speed, but no H or C bodies.

Never with a 3800. Series 1,2, and 3 have never had a FWD manual application. Only manual application for the 3800 in America AFAIK was the Camaro RS and Firebird SE, and they were only S2 N/A.

The 5spd W-bodies were 3100 and maybe 3400, and I think the McClaren turbo3.1.

Close. The McClaren never had a 5 spd. Only auto.

The GM FWD 5 spd only came on the 88-93 Grand Prix, Cutlass Supreme, and Lumina Z34, and was mates to the 2.8L (88-90), 3.1L (90-91) or the 3.4L (91-93).

Of those, there are 2 versions, the Getrag 282 (88-91 2.8 and 3.1L) and the Getrag 284 (91-93 3.4L)

There were other manual cars, but the W-body was the biggest.

There have been several conversions using these trans into other W-bodies using the 3.8L motor as the power plant. It bolts up to the trans, but requires a specific flywheel to be made and a stronger clutch.

I was going to start one on my car, but am too busy and need to free up some money for a house. There is also another guy who is doing an F40 trans (6 spd from a 2006/7 Pontiac G6) and I am not sure how his is coming along. He'* probably pretty far as he was getting close to putting it in the car.
