Default First Time Bonny Owner, bought it to mod it, suggestions?

I recently bought a '98 Bonneville SE with the intention to mod it. (Especially the sound system and engine.)

This car is about mint with low miles, one owner and is crying for me to make it "better"

Since I'm a newbie, anyone here have any sugestions on where I should start? A few projects I could start to increase performance of the engine and, or course, the sound system?

Thanks all

I got a 98 SE as weel (add your year and model to your sig to prevent having to repeat it). All I've really done so far is gut/open the airbox and remove the MAF screen. Didn't turn it into a Ferrari, but gave it some noticeable "oomph"

Check out Tech Info for a list of starter mods too.

Hell YEAH! Bet it sounds awesome. Where do you go for your equipment?

Also, I hear that installs are a beast on Bonnys because of the dashboard, etc., etc. You have any major issues with install?

Default not really

I didn't have hardly any problems at all...just not being a professional I didn't know everything right away but it was simple..the dashboard easily prys right off on bonnies, and make sure you have long enough power cable and such because if you want it too look good and run it all underneath the paneling and everything you'll need more than most amp kits come with..i think anything over 20 ft. of power cable should be good..after installing the 6x9'*, i've realized i'll need to by a new rear deck cover so that i can put the speaker covers on because they are differently shaped that the factory ones..but you can get them thru JC Whitney for about $50 and it would make the back look better/different anyway.

some of the stuff i purchased off various EBay stores, some from Nebraska Furniture Mart, Crutchfield, Stereowest, Sony website, and Sears..
