This forum is making me nervous...
I'm glad it'* here though. I'm just getting tired of reading of the same problems almost everyone is getting. Everyone has that "slippin tranny" feel in over drive, a lot have replaced their trannys early. Lets not forget the upper intake problems that apperantly will all face, if we havn't already. I love bonnies, but kinda wanna dump this car while I still can.

That'* the good thing about this forum. Almost all the problems we face are common among us, so it'* easier to diagnose them and fix them. The upper intake failure of the series II NA engines is a big problem...but get a 180 stat, a tranny cooler, take care of it...and hopefully you won't get it. Or if you still worry, get a SC so you don't have to worry about it
But I worry about my car, and have ever since I joined, but I haven't had any problems with it that I couldn't fix with some new plugs and wires. They're great engines, and you don't have to be too nervous.

I think we just get that slipping trainy feel cause we like to lay down rubber
I don't have any trainy problems though. It never really bothered me. Your car is a 98 it should be fine.

If you are worried, watch the coolant levels as you approaches 80-100K miles and when doing oil changes, make sure its normal oil wear and not laced with coolant. You'll be fine

There is no need to have an engine hoist to add a tranny cooler. It goes in front of the Radiator. The SC is a Supercharger, so there is no plastic upper intake. However, fuel is more expensive. As far as problems, I have only had my plugs and wires and my Harmonic Dampener give me problems. I have also replaced my front rotors with RSM'* from Domestic Performance--but plugs, wires, and brakes are bound to wear out sooner or later.
All cars have there quirks--Chryslers have weak trannies, Fords have weak trannies and poor wiring. We can worry about what may happen down the road, or we can enjoy our cars now, while taking care of them. A lot also depends on how previous owners took care of them.

Fords have horrendous engines. Remember that many people here beat on there cars like no tomorrow. If you keep your intake cool, and do some mods you should be fine. Trannys will fail cause of use, and misuse. They are as reliable as they come in any FWD car with this much power. Be glad you aren't driving a chrysler tranny.... The intake IMHO is the only quick of the bonnies, and thats only in series II. Thats why i bought a series I, cause in college i can't deal with crap like that. I'll keep this as long as possible, and then hopefully get something like an 04 GP or a bonnie with an SC seires III...
I did have a bonnie tranny die on me once, but it was a car that was not kept well at all! Rust thru the frame, all gaskets leaking, horrible horrbile car. How much for a tranny fluid change anyways guys?

randallons.... I can see why reading some of the "help me, something broke" posts would make you a bit nervous...... but there is a much brighter side to it.... with all these people around, all with the same car as you, chances are when YOU run into a problem, one or more have already encountered it and know how-to fix it. They can also give a fairly good estimate on the worest part of it as well.... "how much is it going to cost to fix it"..... besides, everyone has problems now and then.... not everyone has problems ALL the time (although I'm sure there are a few here, myself included that believes they do)
You love you Bonnie right?..... they stay with her... and just keep reading and posting
