Help me fend off my addiction...
SO I finally got my 2001 SSEi back together and it is running AMAZINGLY well.
I love the car and have no plans to part with it after all of the work my brother and I have put into it.
But I went this weekend and test drove a 2005 GXP with 32k on it...and I remember what I miss and loved so much about the 2 Northstar powered STSes I owned.
The ride...the power...the oppulent luxury...well ok maybe not oppulent but damn was that thing nice.
Price is pretty reasonable too at $13988...with wiggle room. I checked CarFax and the car has had 1 owner and no marks against it. Just typical routine maintenance at the dealer.
SO I am torn...do I keep my SSEi AND get the GXP...do I sell off my SSEi and buy the GXP...do I resist temptation and just enjoy the silver she-devil that is my current Bonny Bitch...
Damn you lusty beautiful Bonneville.

if it was me i would get both! i have plans to get a silver GXP to go with my newly named SSXP just so people will be confused to which one i am driving that day. the somewhat go V8 or the im out of here V6 as my SSEi will soon look like a GXP all the way around

I'm with gunner get both if you can. If you can't get both keep the SSEi. The little amount of power gain isn't worth stepping up to the V8. The L67 can be upgraded and tuned unlike the Northstar in the GXP which you can't do anything but add nitrous to.

Hehe. I dumped about 4k into the SSEi'* motor when I lost the bottom end of the original motor. I have NO doubt it will eat most GXPs alive and it gave my buddy'* stock GTO a run for its money hehe.
There is a quality difference though. I've driven the SSEi on 7 hour one way trips up to Road America and I could tell IMMEDIATELY that the GXP would be a better choice there.
Of course, if I have my way and the lottery commission agrees, I could have both AND mod the snot out of them.

if you put the GXP FE5 suspension in an SSEi FE2 it will raise you (from what i've been told) i'm going with the GXP sway bars and rear springs with the strut tower brace to tighten up the handling but also raise the rear a little to put more weight forward on the car. now asfar as the GXP wheels go, between those and my old swoopies the ride quality is noticeably different. the 17'* give it more of a cushy ride the 18'* you feel alot more road given a shorter side wall

Me personally, I would keep the SSEi because I like working on the engine to much. No way I'm giving that up.
Road america? That'* right next door to me. I live just down the road from there.
