General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Default Kill Stories Notice

As most members of BonnevilleClub have noticed, Kill Stories forums can be a very interesting, enjoyable and comical read for everyone. Over the last few weeks I have watched Kill Stories degrade to a certain degree that something must be said.

Street racing in any form is not legal, dangerous to you, other motorists and pedestrians. Take that combination and mix it with a dose of winter and we could have some terrible tragedies on our hands. And most of you that like to street race....are to young and inexperienced and none of us want you(*) to be seriously hurt.

Now, if you insist that street racing is in your blood and your Bonneville is capable, by all means...but be careful.

Also. Take each thread with a grain of salt. I have seen WAY to many threads degrade to a point where I have to delete posts and even consider ABOLISHING Kill Stories from The BonnevilleClub. Consider the entertainment value, not the validity of what ones car can do over another. If ANY member wants to post a story about street racing...go ahead. If it appears that the story is improbable, it will be exposed literally by members. Everyone is free to state an opinion or disagree or even ( I know this is tough ) agree.

If I see any degrading, demeaning or condescending posts it WILL be deleted. No warnings, it will just be gone.

I don't like deleting any members posts, time and effort goes into it.

Don't make me abolish this part of the forum.

I invite the STAFF to comment to this Announcement

I agree wholeheartedly. This forum is the HOT SPOT of the club. Keep the emotions in check. Posts will be deleted, and habitual offenders will be banned from posting in Kills, with no warning, and at our discretion.

I'm about to release the 1/4 mile registry page as well, and if it generates the same type of crap as this forum does, it'* going bye-bye.

Don and I may consider/discuss deleting the Kills if this continues to be a problem.

Until Don or myself changes this:

Our Moderators are better serving you by dealing with the ADMINISTRATIVE, not the disciplinary functions of their job. Anyone who has NOT read the obvious thread at the top of this forum is SOL (no offense, Sol). Everyone who HAS read it, which is probably EVERYONE, will be held to what it says.

If we have to ban members from the forum, or just from this particular area, we will. Our Moderators have expressed some opinions with regards to Kill Stories, and I for one, have enough respect for them to lend an ear. This part of the forum has not been a problem historically, but in the last 6 months it has degraded to the point that it is a thorn in the side of the staff of this forum.

The Kill Stories Forum is now locked for a period of a week, until Don or I unlocks it. During this time, it'* up to the individual members to think about how much they miss it, enjoy it, or could live without it. There will be further 'public' discussion instigated by Don or myself before we unlock it.

When it'* unlocked, things will be a little more POSITIVE and INQUISITIVE rather than NEGATIVE and 'BS' calling, or it will be gone. If you need examples of this type of posting, I invite you to read through the most recent posts, and see how some of us, as opposed to others of us, post here.

At this point, the future of this forum is strictly in the hands of the Administrators of this website.

The content of this post will be copied to a new announcement at the top of Kill Stories and in the NOTICE section.
