Never buy a Pontiac...only buy Fords (RANT)
Here'* the thing, i got a 1993 Bonneville about a month ago. Since the day I got it its been nothing but hell. To be honest i'm ate the point were i want to through it in the junk yard were it belongs.:
I owned a 1990 Mercury Cougar LS for 5 years (miss it to death) and never had a problem with it!!
I'm pretty sure that i would never ever buy another Pontiac ever again!!

Sorry to hear that you are having such bad luck with your Bonneville, but to say you wouldnt own another Pontiac is pretty deep. Think about it you bought a car thats 10 years old, you dont know how its been cared for, and after 1 month of things going wrong with it you wanna get rid of it. Did you test drive the car before you got it? if you did you didnt notice anything wrong with it? I had kinda the same experience with mine, I knew that when i bought it needed some extra care, but then a week later the exhaust fell off, then a month went by and i had to replace the tranny. Now my cat is no good. Sure its givin me a headache, but the headache would be alot worse if i bought a Ford brand new and had to make car payments every month, and still bring it to the shop every 2 weeks (personal experience). I know it can be frustrating having car troubles, but instead of throwing the car away ask for some help, i dont know how bad your car problems are but there are alot of knowlegable people here that have helped me, and im sure with all the knowledge floating around, you could get the same help. You may have bought a lemon, or you could just be experiencing problems that any 10 year old car would have (just all coming on at once). Just 1 thing, I see a heck off alot more 80-90'* Bonnevilles on the road than i do 80-90'* Cougars, whats that tell ya.

well i tropped off my car this morning to my mechanic, heres the deal... the wiring underneath my dash for the dimmers and ignition, blue up, put another one in doesnt work so now he has to redue everything becasue the 1st mechanic didnt know what he was doing.
Then i founf out the the transmission was leaking black has can be and the transmission is burnt, which was weird casue i checked it the other day and it was nice and red.
So thats the deal guys, when i was waiting for him to look at it, my 1990 cougar was sitting there (cause i left it there till i but it up for sale) never been started in over 2 months, she started right up!!! so if tomorrow sounds bad for the bonneville, cougars going back on the raod cause she never lets me down.

Not many 87-91 bonnies though.... Some have maybe 5-10 but thats about it... Hard to come by... A lot of people like them so much that they drive them till they die... I think 292,000 miles on a good looking bonneville SE that was rear ended and totalled should say al lot for the bonneville, and the engine and trans were still good.. I have also seen a buick LeSabre a cousin of the bonnevile that had 320,000 miles on it... I have never seen a ford 3.8 get that far... or a 5.0 for that matter... Seems that the bottom end will go out with the high milage... The 3.0 Vulcan V6'* are another story( ford did something right with this engine )
