Wow, quite the road to travel and only find a bad coil. Amen it was a easy & cheap fix though. Kinda of reminds me when my cat was going I would get what felt like a miss in the upper rpms and it only got worse as time went on. I finally figured it out when I blew the seam out on my cat passing on the freeway .

Similar thing happened recently with my 93. It was running crappy intermittently for a very long time, and I could never figure it out - coils seemed fine every time I checked (good spark + resistance). It didn’t matter if engine was hot or cold. Finally found problem when one coil became consistently weak.
The coils I got from McGrath (above) ended up being more helpful than I planned for.
(I got them mainly looking for the S1 to S2 performance gain).

I am glad to hear that Big Bad is finally running right! On top of everything I learned that coils that seem good when cold may play to a different tune when hot. Yay the Buick is running well again!

Here'* the thing, it had nothing to do with the coils being hot or not. It would pull that mid-throttle stutter at start-up, hot, cold, whatever, but when AZ put a tester on it, it tested fine.
I'm out to Dad'* tomorrow to finally get the small tent laid out and cleaned. I'll drop over to your place so I can drop off your "Most Unique Member" award

omg
that was fast.
I think we scared a few people, and made a few people say "WTF? Was that really a Buick!?!?!?!?"
The headers sound SO good, and that ride made me start to like the sound of the M90.
Wow.
