I don't know anything about mine'* history, except that the body was well taken care of. As of February I will have owned the car for the majority of its life.

Alamo/National Rental Car fleet. Probably rented out as "luxury", hopefully to business travelers... but it had 14K miles on it when I got it with the balance of the warranty, and hasn't given me any trouble thus far. Some idiot took a blade to the rear window defroster lines, and there were a couple of minor scuffs in the bumper, but for the price I paid I was more than willing to put up with a few blemishes!

my car was purchased by my aunt and late uncle new. according to my uncle, my aunt had been hinting towards a jaguar when she spotted the bonne in the showroom of the local pontiac dealer in barrie, ontario, canada while having their gmc jimmy serviced. she commented the car reminded her of a jag and that was enough. it was purchased that day!

my uncle was a doctor and used to take short holidays from his practice...a golfing weekend in virginia or a 3 or 4 day cruise in florida, driving down. so until he died in 1997 the car was basically their "travel car" and racked up most of its miles on trips with their second car or truck doing the day to day stuff. they both had heavy feet but the car was garaged and maintained to go on a moments notice.

after he died she kept the car and it became more of an everyday driver but from the paperwork i got with the car it only did about 40 odd thousand miles from when he died in 97 till i got it last november.

she decided last year at the age of 77 she still wanted her "jag" and we got her a 2002 *-type sedan just off least with only 25m on it! luckily for me she decided after 16 years of saying i liked it i wanted it etc etc i got the car for an early christmas gift. as she said "if nothing else it'll shut you up!"

so see....whining does pay off in the end!

The 1996 was owned by one person in Ontario. It was sold at an auction and I bought in Manitoba.

I'm assuming it was in an accident, however nothing showed on carfax. I noticed (after purchase ofcourse) the passenger control arm was bent and the passenger headlight had been changed.

The 1989 was purchased brand new in Alberta. It was driven for 2 years, and in 1991 it fell off the map. No registration showed up until my grandfather found it at a farm (in Alberta) and bought it off the owner in 1998. He drove it until year 2000. Then he had a stroke and lost vision in one eye and had poor vision in the other. He then parked it at his house until 2004. I got my licence and he was about to trash it, so I took it off his hands and made it driveable. I drove it for 2 years until I was getting annoyed with fixing it and the fact that it looked like crap (lack of paint, rust). So now it sits in a small town called Headingly, Manitoba, with many other cars on a storage lot costing me $5.00/month.

Mine was owned by two elderly women consecutively before I aquired it. First one bought it new and then sold it in I believe 1997, and it got driven for like a month and then SAT with 117k from 1997-2004 in direct elements (hence my paint... ) Anyways, and I bought her on December 20th, 2004 with that same 117,500 miles About 12 miles from here in New London for $750...And I would say for a car that runs this well, $750 is WELL worth it.

The condition of the interior was impeccable, and still is except for when my mom spilled cappuccino ALL OVER EVERYTHING!!! Never has been the same. It barely had any rust on the body, and what I did have was attained from '89-'97...the owner told me that she never had it waxed in the 7 years it sat in the Rain, Snow and SUN...right, so that kinda explains why my side paint is PERFECT and the horizontal painted surfaces are just sunburnt and atrocious...

Hah, now you know.

Mine was an Alamo rental car in Hawaii. Alamo was the first owner. It was shipped to California with 21,000 miles on it, and my Pontiac dealer bought it at auction. I bought it from the dealer and continue to have them service it. Now around 96,600 miles.

Mine for the first years of its life was as an exec car, after that it landed in my hands after kicking it around the dealer for about 100 miles.
