IIRC that is only on the 2000+ cars and def. not on the series 1 cars. Anyways if it does set a light there is ways around it.

Well I know that OBD1/2 ('94-'95) it will not set a code/light because in Ryan'* car we ran without a t-stat and used the fans to control the temp of the car. We had running temps as low as 100* and NEVER set a code/light. We did this to see when the PCM actually commands too rich of a fuel mixture.

And on the OBD2 car I just checked and it is on 2000+ Bonneville'* that it will set a code/light because the PCM thinks that the car is not warming up fast enough.

Also ELMACHOGERACHO not letting the car warm up is probable the reason that it never got up to temp. I know in Ryan'* car if he wouldn't let his car warm up it would never get even close to temp. I just thought about this also - If you have your defrost on your fans will also come on which will slow your warmup and while crusing will act as a manual fan switch which will keep you temps lower.

The drilled 180 that I put in my car sometimes sets a code for the slow warm up. The one that I put in my friend'* 2000 SSEi does not. But, after watching the gas mileage drop due to the slower warm up, and longer period before torque converter lockup, I put the stock ones back in. I'll swap them back out when the weather warms back up. About a 15 minute job at most, so something I can handle twice a year.
