Another way they advertised was with video tapes, I think they would have an ad in a magazine with a reply card, and you could send in the reply card and ask for "more information" and one of the options would be a video tape. I bought this off Ebay. It'* a promotional video for the '95, about 5 minutes long, and a features brochure, and a price comparison/affordability brochure, all in a cardboard case.
I made a transcript
"We Are Driving Excitement
For the next few minutes, you're going to learn about driving excitement because you're going to learn about Bonneville, a performance sedan designed for those of us who have a passion for driving.
Bonneville is an American sedan - yes, but it embodies the character of the great road sedans from overseas.
This is a drivers car, a car built to deliver Pontiac excitement.
The excitement begins with the kind of presence that is displayed by every great performance sedan.
You find it in the curve of a fender, the rake of a windshield, and a poised for action road stance.
It'* a design that wants to be driven.
Inside the cockpit, Bonneville holds you in a firm leather embrace.
The drivers environment is enhanced by full analogue gauges and stereo controls right in the center of Bonneville'* leather wrapped steering wheel.
This is a place attuned to the needs of passengers, but more important, it'* attuned to the fondest desires of its driver.
Here is where the driving excitement really gets showcased, on the road, preferably a great drivers road.
It begins with the kinds of sounds you can feel, the growl of a 205 horse power fuel injected engine, more hp & torque, by the way, than BMWs 325i.
The sure footed agility of 4 wheel independent suspension and specially selected high performance touring tires.
Bonneville even offers speed sensitive steering, steering the gets progressively more firm as your pace and your pulse accelerate.
Can driving excitement ever translate to simple predictability? Absolutely.
Because no sedan can be considered a serious road car if it isn't predictable, when it comes to safety.
That'* why every Bonneville features standard anti-lock brakes and the control that comes with them.
That'* why every Bonneville has dual air bags and that'* why Bonneville offers the grip of traction control, for sure footed acceleration on surfaces like ice or gravel.
We've talked about lots of things that make Bonneville similar to some of the worlds great sedans, now consider something that make is vastly different.
This Bonneville is prices over $15,000 less than the BMW 325i and over $25,000 less than the Lexus LS400.
But driving excitement also comes in an even more aggressive package.
You can see it in this unmistakable design.
This is Bonneville SSEi.
With distinctive ground effects, the supercharger that boosts horse power to 225 and torque to 275 foot pounds, the computer command ride that lets you choose touring or performance suspension.
Inside SSEi has a state of the art 8 speaker sound system and 12-way articulating seats.
Outside SSEi is all business and like Bonneville SLE, it'* still many $1,000'* less than the fine sedans already mentioned.
Which ever Bonneville you consider, please also consider this.
Along with driving excitement, you get a commitment from Pontiac that doesn't end when you leave the showroom.
Thru our Pontiac Cares program, you get a 3 year, 36,000 mile no deductible limited warranty, courtesy transportation if your new Bonneville ever needs warranty service and free 24 hour road side assistance for virtually everything from running out of gas to getting your keys out of your locked car.
A comprehensive side-by-side comparison of how Bonneville performs verses its higher priced competition can be found in the brochure that accompanies this video.
Take a few minutes to read thru it.
More important, visit your Pontiac dealer and test drive this extraordinary performance sedan.
Maybe there'* a perfect serpentine road nearby, the kind of road that with the right car on it makes you understand the reason for the similarity of the words acceleration and exhilaration.
When that test drive is over you'll be saying to yourself "why would I pay so much more for anything else, this Bonneville, this is driving excitement"
Pontiac Bonneville, we are driving excitement.
Price comparison based on M.*.R.P. of Bonneville SLE and SSEi versus BMW 525i and Lexus LS400 models. Level of equipment varies. Traction control optional on models shown. Always wear seat belts, even with air bags. See dealer for details of Pontiac Cares."
