Averaging around 22mpg without resetting the AVG Fuel Economy for the last month or so.. this is with mostly city driving and A/C on 100% from the moment I start the car till I shut it off, in 90+ degree heat/high humidty. This is with a few 20-30 mile interstate trips on each tank which I am up and down in speed from 60-80mph constantly on and off the gas, so no cruise control setting due to the traffice/construction/idiot drivers on that highway. So aprox. a 70% city / 30% hwy mix.
Other than that average over the last month or so MY Car has achieved and continues to show capable of getting:
33+ MPG doing 60-65 on hwy trips
30-32 MPG doing 70-75 on hwy trips
26-28 MPG doing 80 on hwy trips
22-25 MPG Mixed City/Hwy driving
19-21 MPG 100% city driving

I get 22-23mpg checking the onboard computer and the old way of from fill-up to fill-up and stop about the same place in filling it up (full but not overflowing out of the neck but more than the first auto stop in filling it either)

'95, 88 with NA Ser II. 17-20 in town with AC on. 27-30+ mpg on highway at 70-80mph, with cruise control. One leg of a trip netted 33mpg!!! I am totally satisified with mileage both in town and on the highway. Bonnevilles and full size Olds are big, heavy cars. My Protege is not all that much better when you factor in the comfort level and power on tap. If I want crappy mileage, I can drive my built, small block, '75 Power Wagon, 8-9 on a good day, downhill, with a tailwind and no ice chests!
