92-99 Safety
How safe is the 1992-1999 H-Body Bonneville? I know there were many improvements in 2000. I know they got good ratings for frontal impact from the government but you never know what to believe because they give 93-97 Cadillac Seville good ratings and in the IIHS test that model did horribly.

Take a look at some of the totalled cars on here, and give it some thought. I don't exactly know the crash test ratings for the 92-99 Bonnes, but I would assume that they were 5 star frontal impact.

I bought my 93 SSEi for the crash test ratings as a major factor. lilpooky and I had just been totalled in a 94 Buick Roadmaster Limited, and I suffered a pretty major back injury and partial paralysis. The 92-99'* are tanks. Not just the wrecks we've had here, but the wrecks we've seen on the internet speak well for it too.
Every member here that has wrecked one has walked away. One of our most severe was 95naSta. He walked away with minor injuries. In fact, his injuries are perhaps the worst we've seen.
Jstpsntym wrecked his 2000 at 130mph and walked away. There have been others with totalled cars. The important thing is that the passenger cabins have always been intact.
Here'* a good comparison:

I'm alive today thanks to a 98 SSEi that took the brunt of a 60 MPH frontal imapct with a two-ton truck.
I didnt walk away, but at least I'm still here to tell you that these cars are about as safe as you can get IMO.

I was hit from behind in my 1992 Bonneville SE (stopped) by a 1989 Jeep Cherokee estimated to be traveling 50-55 mph at impact -knocked my car through the intersection (2-lane). I drove the car home. Was out of work for a week with whiplash, but I didn't think it was bad enough to keep me from work, but I followed the doctors orders.

hit by a chevy tahoe going about 70 mph. the truck hit right square on the side of the front bumper.
I don't think the car even moved sideways more then an inch.
driver and all three passengers walked away with nothing more then being a little sore.
